CEO Anthony Johnston launched PlaySmart with the intention of offering a consistent, high-quality standard for safety surfacing. His mission was, and remains, to offer clients the guarantee of the same high-standard installation every time, anywhere in the UK. The aim was to give customers total confidence in the quality of materials and the workmanship of his installers. Over the last 21 years, we have brought new innovative products and services to the market, but the mantra of consistent, superior service remains.

PlaySmart have always been and remain proactive, developing innovative products that fill the gaps in the market. This started with the development and introduction of FireSmart, a fire retardant alternative to standard grass matting. We also launched a patented shock pad called SmartPlay to increase the Critical Fall Height (CFH) of Grass Matting.
This innovation has continued throughout the company’s history. Right through to the present day where we offer the world’s only carbon-negative surface- Corkeen. We constantly look for new high-quality products. We also continually research improvements to incorporate into the range.
