Top 10 Installations of 2019

We’re coming to the end of another successful year (doesn’t time fly!). 2019 has seen a whole range of play installation projects undertaken, from the bread-and-butter that is grass mats to the brand new combination of artificial grass and wet pour. We figured we would round up our favourite projects to give you our Top Ten Installations of 2019!

10. Horsted Park

Coming in at Number Ten is a shock pad and grass mat job, completed in November on behalf of Kompan. A 256 square meter site, this was no mean feat for our experienced team, who installed our patented SmartPlay shockpad as a system alongside EcoSmart grass mats.

Completed in just four days, including travel to and from Kent, this project definitely deserves a mention within our Top Ten Installations of 2019!

9. Tibberton Play Area, Wychavon

The first of a few RubbaSmart wet pour play installations to make it in to our Top Ten list, is this recent blue-and-black fleck designed to match the colour of Wychavon District Council’s logo.

“The very efficient team carried out the work on schedule and left site clean. Very satisfied with the finished job and we will be using PlaySmart again.”

8. Bablake Pre Prep School

The second grass matting installation to reach our Top Ten list is this project completed for Red Monkey Play at Bablake Pre Prep School.

7. Meopham Community Academy

Up next, at Number Seven, is the wonderful combination of wetpour rubber and artificial grass. The grass making for a funky, wiggly, soft pathway against the almost sponge-y feeling of RubbaSmart wetpour.

6. Umberslade Park Farm

Umberslade Park Farm is a children’s farm attraction just down the road from our offices. At Umberslade, young children can enjoy a once in a lifetime opportunity to bottle feed newborn lambs and calves. And now, they can play on Touchwood Play equipment whilst parents can relax because our safety flooring is underneath.

We chose this project to reach our Top 10 installations due to the bespoke blend of wetpour chosen, which perfectly matches the indoor play equipment.

5. Park Farm, Thornbury

Breaking in to the top five of our Top Ten Play Installations of 2019 is an EcoSmart matting project completed in early October. This is one of many matting projects completed on behalf of TCL throughout the year, though we chose the Park Farm install to make the list due to its neatly recessed edges.

4. Campsbourne School, Hornsey

Wet pour and artificial grass go hand-in-hand in our fourth favourite installation of 2019. Just missing out on the Top Three, this installation brought a pop of colour to Campsbourne School in Hornsey, London.

3. Tooting Primary School

Landing itself into the Top 3 is one of our first installations of Green Frog Artificial Grass. Tooting Primary School asked for our Lush Lawn 35 due to its high quality real grass look with child friendly, weather durability properties.

2. Bicester Open Play Spaces

Two relevantly recent JungleMulch installations have made their way to Number Two on our list of Top Ten Installations. We carried out both these installations, featuring WetPour wear pads, in November on behalf of Proludic. We’re sure that the residents of this new housing development in Bicester will love both the play areas, we’re even planning to return to site in the new year get some aerial shots.

1. Aberfeldy Play Area

Our Number One favourite play installation of 2019 is this bright and colourful wetpour installation in Aberfeldy, London.

Despite a few setbacks throughout the project, the final result was stunning and the team managed to get some brilliant step-by-step photos along the way.
