Rubber mulch is one of the most popular products available on the playground surfacing market. Made from shredded recyclable tyres, it’s a water permeable safety surface with the look of natural bark.
Often used in gardens and sustainable landscaping due to its durability and low maintenance requirements, it also has superior weed growth suppression. Rubber mulch doesn’t require replacing like loose fill bark, and our JungleMulch is guaranteed last for at least 3 years.
The product is joined together with adhesive binder, mixed together on site then laid onto the play area. It is installed in various thicknesses dependant on any play equipment in the area. As equipment may require different fall heights, groundwork must be undertaken in order to prepare for the specific area.
PlaySmart’s brand of rubber mulch, better known as JungleMulch, is the original rubber bound mulch developed in the US. We offer a range of 8 different colours – including 3 blends, dependent on the design you want. You can also create your own blend of colours if required.
It is possible to create designs with rubber bound mulch, however they can’t be too complex due to the size and shape of the shreds.
