Our clients often ask our team how to clean safety surfacing. EPDM wet pour rubber surfacing should always be a low maintenance product after a new install, however, there are things you can do to keep it looking good and extend the lifespan of your playground flooring.

How to Clean Surfacing

The key thing to remember is that wet pour is water permeable, so when installed on a good free-draining base, it should allow water to drain away from the surface.

Here are our top tips to clean safety surfacing:

  • Inspect the flooring regularly to check for any foreign objects and damage
  • Sweep regularly to remove debris, grime and moss
  • Occasional low-pressure washing can wash dirt through to the base and away from the surface
  • Remove oil and chewing gum as soon as possible to avoid further damage
